You know enough to get started
Happy Humpday!
In chatting with pioneers and groundbreakers and change-makers I’ve learned that while they aren’t immune to these feelings, they don’t let their fears stop them. Instead, they do things they aren’t good at yet, make messes, and then pick back up with more knowledge and confidence.
Next time you notice yourself quietly leaning back from your dreams or goals because you feel that you aren’t ready or qualified maybe just remind yourself that feelings of inadequacy are data points. They are not dictates.
They do not get to decide your path. They just give you information about where you want to grow so that you can charge boldly forward.

Gordon Bakoulis has been a distance runner since 1978 and a running coach since 1985, working with individuals and groups at all levels. Gordon qualified for the U.S. Olympic marathon trials in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004 and was a finalist in the 1992 U.S. Olympic 10,000m trials. She had the honor of representing the U.S. internationally at the 10K, half-marathon, and marathon distances.
At age 62, Gordon's focus as a runner has shifted to health and longevity; however, she still loves chasing fast age-graded times and going head-to-head with her rivals. Her passion for coaching increases every year, and she especially loves working with women aged 40 and over who have full lives and a variety of interests outside of running.
