I was watching a group of birds outside my window this morning, swooping and diving in perfect synchronization, and it got me thinking about how some of the most beautiful things in life happen when we find our flock. You know the kind I mean – the people who light up at the same ideas as you, who lean in when you share your wildest dreams instead of backing away.
Speaking of finding your flock, I witnessed something magical last week. My dear friend, running buddy, and brain sorter
shared her new musical "Marathon" with the world in an industry reading. As I sat in that room, watching her years of work come alive through the voices and talents of others, I saw something profound unfold. Her beautiful story – one she'd been nurturing and crafting with such care – took flight not because she had perfected it in isolation, but precisely because she had the courage to let others in. To let them add their own colors, their own voices, their own heartbeats to the rhythm she started. It reminded me of something I've learned from all of you. That our seeming limitations – the things we think might hold us back – are often the very doorways that lead us to our most meaningful work. The challenges that felt like roadblocks become the stories that connect us. The moments of "not ready yet" become the push we needed to start anyway.
This year has been a masterclass in watching dreams unfold in unexpected ways. Some plans soared, others stumbled, but what stands out isn't the scorecard of successes and setbacks. It's the unwavering presence of this community – yes, you – who show up again and again to say "I believe in this too."
This Friday, I'm hosting a little gathering on Zoom. Not a webinar, not a workshop, just a moment to raise our glasses (coffee mugs, tea cups, whatever you've got) to each other and to all the beautiful things we're brave enough to create together. To celebrate the story-sharers, the before-they're-ready beginners, the turn-limits-into-light makers. To toast the simple, profound truth that in this sometimes overwhelming world, we can still come together and make something wonderful.
Because that's who we are, isn't it? We're the ones who believe in the power of shared stories, who know that every voice raised adds to the harmony, who understand that the most important creations often start with someone simply saying "Here's what I'm trying to do. Want to help?"
I hope you'll join me Friday. Let's celebrate not just what we've made, but who we've become together. All the details are below, and if you aren’t a paid subscriber, but want to join us, just reply to this message and I’ll send over details.

Your Next Uplifter
Our next episode of The Uplifters Podcast is headed your way on Thursday and it features Aditi Sethi, Founder of The Center for Conscious Living and Dying. This is one of the most beautiful and important stories we’ve shared on this podcast. It’s for everyone who is feeling a bit tender in these holiday times, managing grief, loss, and change. It’s a touch longer than other episodes, and like me, you just might shed some tears as you listen. When I told Andy about it he said, “Oh like the special double episodes of sitcoms when they go serious with a big message at the holidays?” Yes. Like that.
You can meet Aditi in her beautiful TedTalk below.
