Hey Uplifters!
Welcome to this week's edition of "The Courage Chronicles"!
It's easy to forget our progress, our courage, and all that we're learning day by day. Often, we feel stuck or uninspired because we're not giving ourselves credit for the shifts and bright spots in each day. Research shows that people who reflect regularly are happier than those who don't. I hope this little Friday note serves as a gentle reminder for you, as it does for me, to pause and acknowledge your achievements.
Here are some little (and big) ways I felt courageous this week
1. Pushing Through Discomfort: While working on my book proposal outline, I recognized that the urge to distract myself was actually a sign that I was pushing past my comfort zone. I stuck with it, knowing that these challenging moments lead to breakthroughs. I'm proud of my persistence.
2. Embracing Uncertainty: We're in the midst of moving homes, which brings a lot of uncertainty. Instead of panicking about all the things that *could* go wrong, I'm choosing (much of the time, anyway) to view this transition as an adventure—an opportunity for discovery, learning, and building the lives we want.
3. Family Goal Setting: Our family set and shared goals for September, courageously asking for support and accountability from each other. This process gave us valuable insights into each other's priorities for the month and the school year ahead.
4. Creative Constraints: Inspired by our family's "Use it Up" game, I've been creatively using up our pantry and garden ingredients before our move. This exercise in working with limited resources has led to unexpected and delightful culinary creations.
5. Reframing Feedback: I received a survey response from someone who didn't get what they needed from the podcast. Instead of thinking, "Oh no, the podcast is not good. I've done a bad job," (what an energy drag that thought would’ve been) I reframed it as, "Great! I'm glad it isn't doing that because that's not our mission." I also saw it as an opportunity to be even clearer about our messaging, ensuring it reaches those looking for uplifting and inspiring stories to boost their courage. A win-win!
Your Turn
When I started writing this email, I thought, "This week was too busy for courage. I didn't do anything." But as always, I saw so much more when I looked back.
Now it's your turn! I challenge you to pause right now and jot down your courage moments from this week. Big or small, they all count. I'd love to hear about them, so feel free to:
- Drop them in the comments
- Reply to this email
- Share them in our new private Facebook group [HERE]!
We're in this together. Your courage inspires mine, and together, we rise so much higher.

P.S. Our listener survey is still open. Will I ever close it? TBD. It’ll take less than 5 minutes to complete and you’ll have a hand in shaping the future of The Uplifters Podcast and Substack.
P.P.S. I’ve been nominated for a Women in Podcasting Award! It would mean so much if you’d vote for The Uplifters.
