Hey Uplifters!
Welcome to this week's edition of "The Courage Chronicles" where we remember that we’re so much more courageous than we give ourselves credit for and then we shout it out so that don’t forget next time!
My Personal Courage Cornucopia (wait, does cornucopia sound too Autumnal? I‘m definitely not feeling courageous enough to admit that summer is ending):
1. I played Pickleball for the first time this week. Was I any good? Not really, but here's the kicker - I'm getting better and better at not being good, and that, my friends, is a superpower I'm proud to flex!
2. I asked for feedback. Now, I know what you're thinking - what if someone tells us we aren't perfect or that we didn't meet their needs perfectly? Gasp! But flip that script - what if we learn something that lights us up and propels us forward? This week, I decided the potential gain was worth the risk!
My clients showed some big-time courage too:
They got real with themselves, crafting "to-don't" lists based on their true priorities for the year. (Because sometimes, courage is saying "no" to make room for the big "yeses"!)
They tackled their mammoth goals by breaking them into bite-sized pieces. Progress, not perfection, folks!
One brilliant author in Paris bought a champagne bottle as a "Goal Object," placing it on her desk as a sparkling reminder of the celebration awaiting her finished novel. (Genius, right?) Learn more about Goal Objects HERE.
They're learning to tune into the cheers of their supporters rather than the doubts of the naysayers. It's amazing how much more courageous we feel when we let the right voices be the loudest!
Our Uplifters crew brought their A-game to the courage party:
Melanie Cohen competed with a bunch of kids in Survivor: NY and absolutely slayyyyyed! (Age is just a number when you've got guts of steel!)
Christina Testut turned 9 "nos" and 4 “ignores” from Barnes & Noble into a resounding "YES!" for her book. Persistence personified! Catch her inspiring story on The Uplifters Podcast [HERE] and watch her victorious shelf placement [HERE].
These moments might seem small in isolation, but my friends, they're the building blocks of our boldest, most authentic lives! They're proof that we're growing, stretching, and becoming braver with each passing day.
Now it's your turn! I challenge you to pause right now and jot down your own courage moments from this week. Big or small, they all count. I'd absolutely love to hear about them, so drop them in the comments, hit reply to this email, or share them in our new private Facebook group [HERE]!
We're in this together. Your courage inspires mine, and together, we rise so much higher.

P.S. Our listener survey is still open. It’ll take less than 5 minutes to complete and you’ll have a hand in shaping the future of The Uplifters Podcast and Substack.
P.P.S. I’ve been nominated for a Women in Podcasting Award! It would mean so much if you’d vote for The Uplifters.
