I love hearing more about your incredible life and journey. I'm so happy you are living from the bench- you absolutely deserve it. Can't wait to read the book. 😘
Thank you, Christine!! So happy we are connected and so appreciate the encouragement and support! Who knew midlife was gonna be sooo rich? I certainly didn’t!
Lol. When I first saw this photo, I thought OMG why do I look so miserable? Then it clicked that this was taken exactly when my audio went out and I was trying to fix it. It turns into a good opportunity to speak up on behalf of childfree/childless women. Often, the prevailing thoughts on women who are childfree or childless is that they’re unfulfilled, cold, and if they’re also single, unhappy they weren’t chosen by a man. The reality is there are plenty of warm, kind women who are on a different path living full and happy lives. Please take this as a reminder to not judge women, childfree, childless, empty nester, any, on a photo or the one time that you meet them in the grocery store after a tough workout at the gym. I promise you that living in your childfree, childless, or empty nester phase of life is or can be as fulfilling as its sister counterpart. Just maybe not in the moments when you’re having tech issues…
I love this answer so much, Nia. Truth: I didn't think you looked miserable. I thought you looked cool (def not cold) and wondered why I never look that cool. Maybe when I'm an empty nester in a couple of years, I'll catch up. LOL. For now, though, very, very grateful to be surrounded by wise, warm, generous women who are living rich, passionate, creative lives, no matter what their familial structures look like.
LOL. Love it. Thank you. This is an incredible group of women, and our combined strengths make us almost unstoppable. Pre-mavenhood is absolutely a stage of life, and it sounds like you’re already on your way. We’ll be here when you’re ready @mavenhoodsociety and mavenhoodsociety.com. See you soon!
Yes! Yes! Yes! to everything you said... except miserable. I see a woman deep in thought! I'd like to use this as a place to drop this https://tiffaniekellog.com/ - she was a guest on my podcast "Lighten UP! The Art of Living Clutter Free" - she is a business coach who has curated a networking community for women who live child-free. You might be interested in checking her out!
Thank you, Erin!! TBH, writing an intro post was 10000x harder than writing my usual content. It felt much higher stakes. Then, I forgot that it was scheduled and posted it with approx 50000 typos in it, so that put things back into perspective (sort of)
