When was the last time you laughed so hard that your sides hurt, felt deep joy and connection with other people, and allowed yourself to let go of all the rules and just play?
Last year I did a comprehensive study of 50 common habits to understand the degree to which they influence people's life satisfaction. I asked about exercising, eating healthy, getting good sleep, spending time with family and friends and many other valuable behaviors, but nothing was more beneficial than smiling and laughing.
It seems so simple, but only 45% of people said they smile or laugh every day and 25% of people said they only laugh 1-3 days a week!
(Meanwhile, 75% of us text, use social media, and watch movies daily, even though we said that all of these contribute less to our feelings of wellbeing).
I can’t stop thinking about this data, and it’s a big part of why I am collaborating with the Mind Body Spirit Network and Red Bird House to create Mind Body Spirit Camp.
If you could use a few days of belly laughs, relaxation, and delicious food in a stunning natural setting, then please join us for our 4-day, 3-night retreat beginning the evening of Thursday, June 8, 2023.
Please let me know if you have any questions or plan to join us! It would be so special to share this time together!
Sexy Breakfast Break
Thanks to all of you who sent me your favorite breakfast ideas this week! Here’s the sexiest breakfast I ate this week. Blood orange + Plain Greek yogurt + some chia seeds + toasted walnuts (the toasting is the most essential element of this whole business IMO). It should be noted that I’m definitively NOT in charge of food for the retreat, so there will be more s’mores and less wacky sweet/savory combos.
What did you eat for breakfast this week?
Thanks so much for coming along with me in this journey! Here’s to more laughing, together!
