Kindness is a verb
If speaking kindly to plants helps them grow imagine what it could do for humans
Happy Mindful Monday!
I grew up thinking that kindness meant being nice and polite, that it meant not causing ripples, taking up space, or frankly, having any needs or opinions. I’ve finally learned, though, that kindness is active. It’s showing up for ourselves and others. It’s advocacy for ourselves and others. It’s saying hard things in the moment to avoid prolonged suffering.
It would look like justice, inclusion, access, and equity for all. It would look like tearing down systems that have only benefited certain people for centuries and rebuilding them with community in mind.
That’s a tall order, but what if we started with those closest to us? What tiny step could you take today to make the world a little kinder?
Let us know by sharing a kindness you’ve shown or received and tagging us (@the_uplifters_podcast) on IG, Facebook, or TikTok to be entered to win a Kind Cotton shirt of your choice. We will announce a winner next Friday!
