A group of women attending Uplifters Live got together this week to share their wishes for the day. Cher Hale said, "I've been making moves toward a big dream. Being in a space with so many women who've taken courageous action and demonstrated massive self-belief gives me courage capital - something I need more of in my life. When one person goes after their dreams, it inherently helps others do the same."
Standing next to her daughter, the embodiment of her courage capital, Cher perfectly and succinctly captured a concept I've struggled to express (in lots more words). It was a real mic-drop moment.
This is what we gain every week from The Uplifters Podcast stories: courage capital. Starting a company, writing a book, forming a band, leaving the safety net of your job, hometown, or relationship - all require time and money, but the most vital piece of capital you’ll need to raise is Courage Capital.
5 Ways to Boost Your Courage Capital:
1. Surround yourself with examples of courage.
2. Write a list of times when you’ve been bold or brave.
3. Visualize yourself succeeding at your courageous goals.
4. Start small by taking baby steps outside your comfort zone.
5. Celebrate each courageous act, no matter how tiny or easy, no matter the outcome.
Mindful Monday Journaling Prompt:
What is one dream or action you've been postponing out of fear? Write about the courage capital you already possess to make it happen. How can you build more?
Thanks for being here. Let’s keep boosting our courage capital together. As always, drop me a line if you ever need a listening ear or a hefty dose of pep-talking!

Your Next Uplifter
Our next episode is headed your way this Thursday. Get ready to fall in love with Kate Tellers as you hear how this master of storytelling shares her own story. The episode is packed with wisdom. Here’s one of my favorite Kate-isms from this very valuable conversation:
"I think we all just want to be heard and to be asked about ourselves and then have what we say be valuable."
