Bonus Episode: Edith Zuschmann is Creating a Movement Through Movement
Hey Uplifters,
It’s September, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve got all the back-to-school vibes going on! We all might need a little boost this week, so I have a special midweek bonus episode for you, exclusively available here on Substack! If you haven’t heard my conversation with Kathrine Switzer, you might want to listen to that one first, to learn more about the meaning behind 261 Fearless.
In this special bonus episode, you’ll meet Edith Zuschmann. From a chance encounter with running legend Kathrine Switzer to founding a movement that spans 14 countries, Edith's journey is about the transformative power of community and movement.
Edith takes us on a jog down memory lane, sharing how a simple idea to start a women's running group blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon. With infectious enthusiasm, she reveals how 261 Fearless is breaking down barriers, one step at a time. Whether you're a seasoned marathoner or someone who's never laced up a pair of running shoes, Edith's message will leave you inspired to be more fearless in whatever you do!
5 Key Uplifting Lessons from Edith:
Your biggest competition is yourself - focus on your own growth, not others' expectations.
Community is a powerful catalyst for personal transformation.
Celebrate every step forward, no matter how small.
True leadership is about lifting others up, not racing ahead.
To create a movement, you must first move yourself - physically and mentally.
If you enjoyed these episodes, you’ll also love the story of how Alison Mariella Désir created Harlem Run Club.
