What To Do... Or Not
Happy Fearless Friday, Friends!
This has been a really big week.
Two long-held dreams are coming to life and co-creating them is taking up lots of time and energy! (Preview, because I can't resist: I’ll be hosting my first-ever retreat in June and the podcast I’ve dreamed of creating for over a decade is on track to launch in early spring!)
And, the biggest things about this week happened in just a few small moments as I followed The NY Times 7-Day Happiness Challenge. It focuses on our social wellness, by recommending actions that connect us to others. Alongside the other members of our LiveUp community, I’ve assessed my social fitness, called an old friend for a quick catch up, chatted up strangers, and most importantly written a letter to my grandma telling her how much she means to me. It's been profoundly beautiful.
Like I said, it’s been a big week. And there’s so much more I am looking forward to this year, so I better get really good at choosing what to do. And even more importantly, what not to do. I don’t have an excel sheet of monthly goals or even a word of the year (yet). What I have is my personal decision tree for assessing where I want to put my energy and attention. It’s based on my research into how people define living up. I've synthesized over 1000 responses into three simple keys.
Living up means
Being well in our minds and bodies,
Connecting deeply with other people,
Living with purpose and positive impact.
These will be my filters for every decision this year.
How will you decide what gets your energy and attention in 2023?
I can't wait to hear!
XO
